1874 saw the first alterations to the chapel take place, The Parish Clock (Chapel clock) was fitted into the tower, the cost being met by public subscription.

In 1883 the organ was purchased for the Chapel at a cost of £85.

The stained glass window to commemorate those who had given their lives in the Great War was unveiled by Miss Baker of Oakwood Grange on Remembrance Sunday 1919.

More major alterations took place in 1935, with the large room being divided into the church and school room. The organ and pulpit re-sited at the opposite end of the church, a new floor fitted, old pews removed and replaced with chairs and a new heating systems and electrical lighting installed.

The concrete spire on today’s Chapel replaced the old wooden spire in 1949 costing £290. The contractors for the work were William Proctor & Sons Ltd. of Sheffield.

Finally in 1974 the clockwork mechanism was removed from the Chapel clock and a new electric movement installed. The cost was met by former Parish Councillor William (Billy) Gray, to mark his year of office as Chairman of the Parish Council.
